A free Minecraft server for you and your friends
Give your server a name and it is up, at an address like friday-night.wishblock.net.
Your friends paste it into Multiplayer, Add Server, and they are in. Nothing to download, no ports
to open, no ads, and no card.
Minecraft: Java Edition. No ads. No card.
What you get for free
- A server with its own address that stays in your friends' server list, with its name and how many are on.
- Plugins and mods. Paper for plugins, Fabric for mods, from Modrinth or CurseForge, on any version from 1.19.
- A backup every hour the server is running.
- Plugins built just for you, described in words in the iPhone app, checked to load before they go on your server, and taken back off with Undo.
- A usage limit for hosting and building plugins, which resets every week.
And it is fully manageable by AI: connect your AI assistant and ask it to install a mod, change a game rule, or say who is on.
No start button, no queue
A free server costs money to run while it is up, so yours sleeps when nobody is on it. You do not have to log in to a panel and press start, or wait in line behind other free servers: when anyone joins, it wakes, and they wait in a lobby for the moment it takes to start, then are sent in. To everyone in the server list it always looks online.
How it compares
| Wishblock Free | A typical free host | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting it | Wakes when someone joins | Someone presses start in a panel |
| Address | yourname.wishblock.net | Often a shared address and a port |
| Plugins and mods | Installed for you, versions matched | Find them, download them, upload them |
| Something nobody has made | Described in words, built for you and put on your server | Learn Java |
| Ads | None | Often, in the panel |
What it is not
It is Java Edition only; Bedrock players cannot join. It is for a server you play on with people you know, not a public network of hundreds. And the free usage is a weekly amount: when it runs out the server sleeps until it resets, or until you move to a paid plan.
Getting started
- Open app.wishblock.net and sign in with Discord or Apple.
- Name your server.
- In Minecraft: Multiplayer, Add Server, paste the address. Send the same address to your friends.
Then add the plugins or mods you want. For something nobody has made yet, there are plugin ideas to start from.
